South Sudanese Refugees Migrate to Uganda
Again, it is the same story, but this time, it is in a different location. South Sudan became one of the recent countries that has a lot of people who prefer to immigrate from their own country.Obviously, the number of the Sudanese refugees has grown up. Today, there are over 2,900 South Sudanese refugees per day.Additionally, The landlocked nation hosts more than half a million people who have struggled with the war in north of the border. After the Civil war that was in 2013, South Sudan had a lot of detrimental political tensions. Which means the South Sudanese refugees has increased. According to data from the United Nation’s refugee agency, UNHCR, In the past four months, there were more 300,000 Sudanese refugees who moved to Uganda. Also, in September, the total number of South Sudanese refugees surpassed 1 million.
Some South Sudanese refugees have came to Uganda many times just because they find a safe place that will protect their families. Sudanese refugees had a great live in their original country, and they had works and great economy. However, when they decided to immigrate to Uganda, they absolutely lost a while these benefits. For example, Simon O., who is 75 years old, lives with his daughter and -in-law six grandchildren as refugees. He told The World Post, “Before the war, life was good in our country, and we had land and we could farm. Everything changed in July. We did not know that the fighting was coming”
